Ghent University

Ghent University (UGent) was founded over 200 years ago (in 1817). Today it belongs to the top 100 universities in the world and one of the major universities in Belgium. Our 11 faculties offer more than 200 courses, attract over 46.000 students and conduct in-depth research within a wide range of scientific domains. UGent has very well developed industrial liaison network and Technology Transfer (TT) Office, accounting about 25 business developers and about 40 TT advisors. Every year on average 8 spin-offs are leaving UGent to become successful companies. Them, as well as the external companies, find the home for their ventures in the 2 technology and science parks managed by UGent. In terms of European collaborative research the UGent EU-team of about 30 people offers the significant support to its researchers.
