Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC
The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC is one of the most important centers for material-based research and development in Germany. According to the motto „materials meet …“ around 400 employees work on innovative materials and technologies for sustainable products. Research focuses on energy, biomedicine, climate and environment, digitalization and adaptive systems. The links to the European lithium institute eLi result, among other things, from the battery development activities. Fraunhofer ISC with its R&D Center Electromobility is currently involved in more than a dozen national and EU-wide research projects relating to battery development and is also a member of the core team of the EU’s Battery 2030+ initiative.
